Hi, I’m Deb. I have completed my Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) at CQU. I enjoy working with people of all ages, helping to explore their barriers and strengths and support them in achieving their goals. I believe the client is the expert and I will take the time to understand their perspective and create a tailored plan which is unique to them. It is my mission to continue to learn and grow to support my clients and use evidenced based interventions to ensure best outcomes.
I have experience working with adults and children with a variety of physical, mental, and developmental health conditions. I also have had experience with environmental modifications, functional assessments, sensory profiles, cognitive assessments and assistive technology. I have worked in many environments including hospitals, schools, sub-acute mental health units, homes, and in the community.
Most recently, I have been supporting adults with a range of complex mental health and developmental conditions to understand signs and symptoms, emotional regulation, window of tolerance, anxiety, flight / flight responses, sleep hygiene, social reconnections, personal care, leisure activities, reengaging with school/employment, challenging negative thoughts, sensory responses, navigating the community, self-advocating, and referrals.
